You start the Wegovy injection at 0.25 mg once a week, then step up every 4 weeks through 0.5 mg, 1 mg and 1.7 mg to a 2.4 mg maintenance dose.
The June 2026 label adds Wegovy HD 7.2 mg for adults who have tolerated 2.4 mg for at least 4 weeks and need more weight reduction. The Wegovy pill has its own ladder: 1.5 mg daily, then 4 mg, 9 mg and 25 mg, a month at each step.

What is the Wegovy injection dosing schedule?
You move up one step every 4 weeks until you reach your maintenance dose.

You inject under the skin of your stomach, thigh or upper arm on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food. If a dose does not agree with you during the climb, the label tells your prescriber to consider delaying the next step by 4 weeks.

What is the Wegovy pill dosing schedule?
You take one tablet a day and step up every 30 days, from 1.5 mg to a 25 mg maintenance dose.

Each morning, the label asks you to:
- Take the tablet on an empty stomach with up to 4 ounces of plain water.
- Swallow it whole. Do not split, crush or chew it.
- Wait at least 30 minutes before you eat, drink anything else or take other oral medicines.

What if you miss a Wegovy dose?
For the injection, it depends on how far away your next dose is; for the pill, you skip it.
